For maintenance emergencies please contact your building office first. The following are items that would be considered emergency:
- heating or AC not turning on
- no electricity in room
- bathroom not working with no alternate, broken pipes
- storm damage roof
- security related things like broken windows and locks
When filling out a work order you will find about a dozen categories to select from.
Carpentry- Would be used for repairs to cabinets and other millwork that maybe installed in your classroom. Installing or moving dry erase boards and like items. This would also be used for minor wall repairs and light paint touch ups.
Deliveries/ moving- If you need a table moved out a room because it is no longer used for instruction, or are looking for one, use this category.
Electrical- this would be used if you have a problem with a light switch or a broken/loose outlet. Adding of outlet(s) would need to go though the building principal as a room improvement project. Replacing broken switch on your lava lamp is not going to happen, no personal items will be repaired.
Equipment- This is an area for other items that you may have such as a AV cart with a broken wheel, kiln, gym equipment and other such items. This is not for phones, computers or overhead projectors, these still goes though the help deck that IT dept. already has in place.
Flooring/carpet repair- This would be used if a seam in the carpeting is coming apart, or a transition strip has come loose. If a tile has come loose or missing. Also if cove base has come loose from the wall. We are aware of many areas the floor tile is in sad shape, we are planning to address this with improvement projects.
Lighting indoors- This one shouldn't be to hard to figure out. If you have a fixture that is dimmer than the others it maybe just a lamp. If its completely out it maybe a bad ballast. Let us know that, it changes who gets the work order. I have seen fixtures that work when first turned on, then don't an hour later, be descriptive as to its location so we can fix the right one. Also, lamps are for lighting, bulbs go in the ground.
Lighting outdoors- Here again be descriptive as to location. This would be for parking lot and building lighting.
Fixtures- This would be for tables, desk and chairs repairs.
Doors/locks,hardware- This would be for any door in the building that needs repair. Problems with door locks, loose handles or broken closers.
Plumbing- This would be used for any plumbing repair such as a toilet not flushing, leaking sink drain, slow draining sink, drinking fountains and washfountains.
Playground equipment-
Grounds- I put this in there if there was a need for something special outside. This might be fence repair or a flag pole needs help.
Windows/ Glass- If you have a problem with a window, it goes here. This also includes inside glass.
Roof leaks- Anything leaking above your head. Since there are water and heating piping above the ceiling, it may not be the roof that's leaking. Yet if its raining cats and dogs outside we might have a problem with the roof.
