Summer Food Service Program

What is the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)?

The Summer Food Service Program was created to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals during long school vacations when they do not have access to school lunch or breakfast.  This program helps children get the nutrition they need to learn, play, and grow throughout the summer months when they are out of school.

The Summer Meal Program is offered in partnership with the USDA's Summer Food Service Program and administered by the Iowa Department of Education. For more information about the national Summer Food Service Program, visit https://www.fns.usda.gov/sfsp/summer-food-service-program.

2025 Free Summer Meals For All Kids 18 and Younger!

Saydel Community School District will be serving free meals to children 
18 and under during the summer! Starting June 11th - August 8th , Monday - Friday Only. 
All meals will need to be consumed on site, no grab and go meals.

 Adult Lunch $5.10
*Adult meals can be purchased at  Cornell only.

Look for the “Food On The Run” mobile feeding truck at the following sites:
 

Sunnybrook Mobile Home Park | 5975 NE Berwick Dr|11 AM-11:30 AM

Pine Grove Mobile Home Park | 4210 NE 14th St, Des Moines|12 PM- 12:20 PM

The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
